Head of Field Research and Technical Support for the (CPIB) - Jailed for stealing government funds
Crime: Stealing $1.76 million in government funds.
Date of conviction: 20/02/2014
Punishment: 10 years in Changi prison.
Edwin Yeo ironically worked for the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) For 15 years, eventually becoming the Head of Field Research and Technical Support.
However the CPIB found that between 2008 and 2013, Edwin stole $1.76 million dollars from a CPIB bank account, which Mr. Yeo then mostly gambled away at Marina Bay Sands.
After being convicted of 21 counts of financial impropriety, he’s now serving 10 years in Changi Prison.
